This Training

Yoga Nidra is a unique methodology based on the ancient anatomy of the koshas. Often described as a prolonged savasana, this meditation modality involves deep bodily rest and the opportunity to reset negative thought patterns in the brain.

Participants of this program will walk away with the tools to lead a yoga nidra practice that both honours its roots, and has relevance for our current lives. This program is about more than becoming a yoga nidra teacher, this is about equipping you with the know-how to rest and relieve stress. Yoga Nidra is an effective tool for new parents, caregivers, seasoned students and instructors alike. This program welcomes all bodies and all levels of experience (including none!)

Join a legacy training that continues to evolve and grow. With hundreds of audiences from within Canada, the UK, Germany and the United States, this yoga nidra training program is refined, refreshed and ready to engage all types of learners. Your participation welcomes you into a growing community that meets monthly to practice and gathers to enhance our skills with nidra supplements.

 FAQs

  • Yes! I often make the (horrible) joke that if you train with me over the weekend, you’d be ready to teach on Monday (you may not be stoked about it, but you could!) You’ll be even more prepared to teach if you send through your requirements and receive some 1-on-1 feedback from me. Graduates report that they feel excited and confident to yoga nidra upon completion of the program.

  • I offer you a certificate when you complete program requirements.

  • I am a certified Continuing Education Provider with the American Yoga Alliance. For those of you who have a 200 hour certification with the YA, you are able to count this course as continuing education credits as long as you fulfill all the program requirements.

  • I view the program requirements as a continuation of the course itself. Each exercise is designed to help you crystalize your priorities as a facilitator and to assess your integration of the material. The requirements are entirely optional but are highly recommended.

  • Yoga nidra can be shared anywhere! But here are some ideas:

-yoga studios (if you are an active teacher, you can enhance your current offerings or introduce yoga nidra to your community)

-in therapeutic settings (many therapists and counsellors explore the content of this program to ameleriorate their work)

    -art studios

    -community centres

-at home in your bed over zoom

    … should I continue?

  • -yoga teachers (especially newer grads seeking to cultivate a connection to yoga’s philosophies and become skillful with holding silence)

    -therapists/counsellors

-musicians/artists/authors/performers (yoga nidra has a real knack for shaking up creative blocks)

-teachers of any kind (using nervous system theory and rudimentary neuroscience to better enhance HOW your students learn)

-caregivers, parents (to help you access and cultivate a relationship to effective rest; and to share with others)

  • No way! You can just take this course if you are interested in yoga philosophy, nervous system theory, neuroscience and sleep science.

  • Upon purchasing the course (in full or by instalments), you have access to the course for life.

  • Each module has a brief quiz that you can use to further integrate the material. Each module is also paired with a yoga nidra practice to encourage passive learning, alongside active learning. You can nap your way to a new skill! You also have the option of submitting the program requirements and receiving feedback from me. I care about your learning experience and meet you where you’re at.

  • This course is created from years of facilitating the same program in person. I’ve edited and modified its content based on feedback from over one hundred graduates. In essence, this is the distilled and perfected version!

  • Taking the self paced version provides most of the benefits you’ll receive taking it in person. You will access the manual, practice recordings, a connection to the greater yoga nidra community and a robust feedback process should you submit the program requirements. The only piece not accessed by taking the self pace format is the opportunity for practice teaching. You will see that I prompt you to try some teaching on your own or with a willing audience when you get to the pedagogy module.

  • Studying in a self-paced format makes learning accessible and available to more students such as caregivers, those with full time jobs, and those living with different abilities. Rather than needing to be ‘on’ and well for a full weekend, you take the program on your own time, pausing when you need to, and re-watching key pieces.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you for this training - the material and lectures have been so engaging and easily digestible. If I wasn’t so excited to start sharing this modality with others I wouldn’t want the training to end.

  • Thank you again for this beautiful training.

  • So far I have absolutely been loving the course and I’m only at module 3. Can’t wait to delve deep and expand. It is so engaging and informative.

  • I love all the connections between the science and nidra practice, it helps really put things into perspective from all sides.

  • Your love for this practice shines through with your knowledge.
