NAPP : YOGA NIDRA

A library of rest and sleep practices for the modern dreamer.

I listen to Taryn's nidrā offerings from the comfort of my own bed and feel gently guided into a restorative state of calm and rest. From this state, I feel a portal open to deep unconscious wisdom and a profound sense of inner peace.

A New Strategy for Rest

Collectively, we are depleted.

We operate within systems that reward hustle rather than stillness; grind rather than ease.

The result?

We are tired, under-inspired and disconnected from our own capacity to rest. We are told to prioritize ‘self care’ but aren’t able to craft out the time or budget to do so. We are told that resting is key to enhancing our productivity but we are intimidated at the prospect of stillness or meditation.

What if rest didn’t need to be earned?

What if we embraced rest for rest’s sake?

What if rest was easy?

NAPP presents a new strategy for rest.

Explore a library rich with rest and sleep practices:

Practices that leave you with a sense of mental clarity and a body that feels settled.

Practices that help you slide towards sleep for the night.

Practices that invite intentional positivity as a disruptor to your negative mental loops.

Practices that provide a nap without the fog.

The best part is, you have everything you need to excel at this practice!

Yoga nidra is a practice that is co-created with your nervous system. When you find a pocket of space, use your rest time in the most effective way you can.

I owe it to Taryn and her incredible offerings that yoga nidrā is now a sacred ritual of care for me. She calls you in, helps you land, and gently guides you through a unique array of themes and metaphors. It’s clear that all her work is deeply rooted in years of dedication to yoga philosophy. Her language remains accessible even when diving into complex areas of the subconscious mind, with an occasional sprinkle of humour.

A Peek Inside NAPP…

about NAPP YOGA NIDRA

  • Napp: Yoga Nidrā is an app you download to your phone (iphone or android.)

With a few clicks, you can explore a library of rest and sleep practices for you to use as a sleep aide, nap guide or practice to fill in that random twenty minutes you have between commitments.

  • Yoga nidra is a practice we take from lying down with our eyes closed. With the recordings, you’ll hear my voice offering suggestions for what to imagine and how to rest your body and engage your mind.

The practices range in duration from under 10 minutes, to over 20 minutes. You decide how long your deep dive is knowing you’ll emerge rested whether you had 30 or 9 minutes to spend on resting.

Yoga nidra is anadaptogen, meaning you can trust that you’ll get what you need from the practice. Experiences can include: the best sleep of your life; a potent nap; a creative insight; a profound daydream and then some. I’ve organized the recordings by theme: Relaxation; Sleep Support; Creativity Boost or Philosophy Corner. There’s also a section of practices suitable for kids called the Kids Corner. Pick what theme or practice title speaks to you and trust you’ll always get what you need.

  • Rest is for everyone and every age!

You will see recordings in the Kids Corner section geared specifically for younger practitioners (though I hear from many adults making use of these too.)

If you self-identify as someone who needs rest, this app is for you.

    More specifically, NAPP is for:

The hustler – who works multiple gigs day-to-day and doesn’t have the space for creativity, daydreaming, play and fun.

The caregiver – who attempts to engage in sporadic rest when the opportunity presents itself, often without a huge budget or ability to leave the house for self care.

The artist – who is tapped out of resources that feed their work.

The student – who was taught that all learning needs to be active and energy intense (pro tip: resting can enhance active memory recall and establish a nervous system that’s open to making novel connections aka learning better.)

The teacher – yoga teachers (and others) who seek inspiration for their classes and a greater connection to the philosophical tradition of yoga.

The on-again-off-again meditator – who has a hard time establishing a practice that works for them.

The insomniac – who is tapped out of strategies for how to get back to bed.

If you identify with any of these roles, if you identify as a human being - NAPP is for you.

  • Yoga nidra works best when you prioritize your physical comfort. Find a place where you are happy to lie down for time. We recommend your bed, but a couch works, so does a hammock, so does a well-padded yoga mat. Build an environment that’s peaceful with dimmed lights or none all together. Be open to shifting your body as needed throughout the practice or slide into sublime stillness.

Once your body is easeful, the practice becomes an audio one. Hit ‘play’ and close your eyes. Allow my words to intermingle with your own interpretation of them. Allow my prompts to intermingle with your own nervous system. Allow my poetry to intermingle with the creativity of your heart.

And because yoga nidra can help plant a potent intention, you can curate each practice to what you’re seeking:

The hustler – infusing their day-to-day work life with creative daydreams.

The caregiver – easily accessing a moment of connection and meaningful rest.

The artist – unlocking their connection to a wealth of creative ideas.

The student – enhancing their learning strategies by tending to their brain.

The teacher – seeking inspiration and connection to something bigger than themselves.

The insomniac – better understanding why we need rest and employing strategies for settling.

  • Absolutely! There are several recordings available for free on the NAPP APP. In our experience, one recording can last a while as the experience you derive from it will change day-to-day.

When you’re ready to subscribe you can pay $8.99 monthly, or save 30% and subscribe for $74.99 annually. Please note - rates and taxes will vary based on where you live.
