225-hr
My 15 hour philosophy module encourages participants to:
emerge with a grounding in the context of the philosophy that informs the yoga tradition
approach their own practice (& teaching practice) using the lens of philosophy
Specific areas of study will include:
the yoga thesis – why and how
an introduction to the Upanishads & non-dualism
Patañjali’s Yoga Sutras (Raja Yoga & the 8 limbs)
Hatha Yoga (key vocab & practices)
Lost n’ Found 200-hr
I co-created this program alongside Lost n’ Found director, April Janzen and movement teacher extraordinaire, Diana Harpwood. If we could summarize the program in a few terms it would be practical, inspiring, and honouring both the ‘old’ and the ‘new’.
During our time together, we’ll explore:
the subtle anatomy of the chakra system and the nadis
hatha yoga and pranayama
a comprehensive introduction to the yoga sutras
My overall intention is for students to feel grounded in the philosophy of yoga, with an eye for the problem yoga seeks to solve. We bring the lofty world of yoga philosophy back to ground level by applying it to our current lives. We toggle old theories with modern ways of knowing in the cumulative session known as ‘Sutras and Science’.
