Participants of this program will walk away with the tools to lead a yoga nidra practice that both honours its roots, and has relevance for our current lives. This program is about more than becoming a yoga nidra teacher, this is about equipping you with the know-how to rest and relieve stress. Yoga Nidra is an effective tool for new parents, caregivers, seasoned students and instructors alike. This program welcomes all bodies and all levels of experience (including none!)
What you will learn:
-The history of yoga nidra: including the main lineages of the practice and scriptural references to ‘nidra’
-Nervous system theory: and how it applies to facilitating yoga nidra
-Yoga philosophy: gain a solid grounding on the philosophy that informs the practice; including non-dualism and the kosha model
-Stages of the practice: dissect the practice step-by-step, including each stage’s philosophical and biophysical efficacy
-Nidra facilitation: best approaches for facilitating, including leading in-person and online classes
-Neuroscience and sleep science: to better answer what happens to our brain when we take this type of practice
-The efficacy of intention setting: a discussion that toggles yoga philosophy with positive psychology
-Practice, practice, practice: ample opportunities for practice teaching and experiencing yoga nidra (which will inform your approach as a teacher)
Bonus Content:
direct experience of the practice through recordings and live classes
eight ready-to-teach yoga nidra scripts for you to take your skills into action
numerous script stages and approaches to inspire your own teaching
mini movement practices for use prior to leading a yoga nidra class
the opportunity to continue your facilitation and relationship to yoga nidra by joining our monthly Nidra Night community and participating in the Yoga Nidra Supplements
